For years, security researchers have shown that hackers can hijack the cameras to spy on whomever is on the other end. To put that in perspective, think of all the things your devices have seen you do. And there have also been reports if people using their phone and suddenly the front facing camera and its flash came on. To think about it, what is the reason smartphone devices now come with a flash in its front facing camera ? The answer is simple, so that they(the government) can monitor you even when you are in a dark place.
Don't be surprised if you see your private pictures on the internet one day, you got spied on bro. So put a sticker or to cover your front facing camera.
